Receptive Language

Recently Daniel had to take a little test to see at what level his receptive language was.
I don't have the full report yet but I know he did well. So I have been on cloud nine.

He knew things I had no clue he knew - or lets say things we haven't sat down and taught him. He never fails to amaze me. I did learn that I need to work on rhyming with him!

So here are a few clips of his testing.

From the moment I met him, I've never had any doubt that there's a bright young boy behind that smile--this is just more proof!

Awesome, Melanie... always so nice to have tangible proof, even if it is something we already know.

GO Daniel! Go Daniel! It is amazing at what lives in our children who can't even speak! I am always amazed at things Faith knows and I never even taught her!

Melanie, wow wow wow. There was NO DELAY at all in the first few clips, he knew exactly what the answer was. He is SO bright! Congrats on doing such a great job teaching him all this stuff, you're amazing!

Definitely a standing ovation performance!

LOVE the glove-like splint with a pointer! (I might have to link this post in one of mine in the future.)

I think he showed signs of tiring in the second half.

Yea, he just doesn't seem to know what rhyme means.

His understanding of phonics - the letter a word begins with - looks like he will read soon - no? (Outside of my credentialed specialty.) Love your ST, too. I remember seeing video of her about a year ago and I continue to be impressed with her.

Congrats to you, Mel! Barbara
