One word....

One little word uttered.
One little word repeated.
One little word spoken with purpose.

Driving away from school yesterday, I turned right to head directly to therapy. To go home I would have gone straight.

"Home" and a whimper is what I heard from the backseat. I look over my shoulder and there is a tired little boy who you can tell wants to crawl into bed and nap.

me: Home?
Backseat: big smile "home"
me: We have to go to therapy, then we can go home.
backseat: "home, home, home" with whimpers

Me- grinning ear to ear and teary eyed. Daniel telling me he wanted - to go "home".
Telling me with purpose, no prompting, no nuffin...just Daniel telling me with his own voice, what he wanted.

No, he didn't string words together and make a sentence. But I don't care.
He said a new word and it was completely clear.
Loud and clear.

Next time Daniel, I promise we will go home when you ask.

Phenomenal! I'm so delighted and thrilled that he spoke a new word. I know how monumental this must be. I'm still waiting for Logan's first word ever. This really tugs at my heart strings. Love, LOVE it.

Oh. My. God. I am sitting here in Florida in the hotel before we leave for our Disney cruise, woke up and couldn't sleep, in the lobby, and CRYING about this. From happiness. I know how sweet and miraculous a word can seem, and I am so excited for you guys. If he can say one word, HE CAN SAY MORE. "Home" is just a wonderful, wonderful word. Melanie, this made my day (er, night). xo

Oh how exciting! I'm sure you were ecstatic! Everyday I pray for my daughter to say a word. Any word. In my dreams when she talks to me it sounds so angelic.
